Football News

Ever since the WWE started NXT as its own mini-standalone production, there has always been a clamor for the next big star to be brought up.

Multiple Call-Ups

In the recent past, we have seen former NXT tag-team title holders The Ascension and the Lucha Dragons come up to very different receptions, while former NXT Champions Adrian Neville and Kevin Owens both move up to the main roster full-time.

Disappointingly however, we have yet to see any of the talented NXT women get their chance to shine on the main roster. Well, that is all set to change.

Reports in recent weeks have been swirling that the WWE are finally set to kick some life into an ailing Divas division with the introduction of at least one NXT star to help out Paige in her feud with The Bellas.

Charlotte and Sasha

Last week it was believed that the WWE Creative Team had finally decided on the stars coming up to the main roster being Charlotte and Sasha Banks.

It seems now that it has been set in stone. According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, via Wrestling Inc, Banks and Flair were apparently included in a memo about a new storyline.

"Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio on Sunday that WWE executives recently issued a memo to NXT staff listing talent they have no intention on utilizing for a storyline in the immediate future and Charlotte and Banks were not included," Michael Pena of Wrestling Inc wrote.

Banks and Charlotte recently tagged together on the latest episode of NXT with the thinking obviously being to make them friends and allies before heading up to the main roster together to take on The Bellas with Paige.

The Divas division desperately need these two coming up to be a breath of fresh air. Nikki Bella's long reign as Champion - which is just so that she can break AJ Lee's record as longest reigning Champ, to get back at her for leaving - is killing the division and the sooner she drops the strap the better.
