Arsene Wenger has, in recent seasons, shown himself to be proficient in the transfer market once again after enduring a number of years of failed signings.
Once heralded for the acquisitions of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and the like, Wenger later became derided by his own club's supporters for buying more failures than successes.
However, the arrival of Alexis Sanchez last summer and a deal for Petr Cech this year suggest times are a changing once again, while signing Mesut Ozil was at least a good idea in principle.

But this is not to forget the dark days of Wenger in the transfer windows, and there are few managers of his calibre who have bought so much dross over the years.
