Morgan Schneiderlin's move to Manchester United has spurred the Southampton board to prepare a bid for Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie.

The Daily Mail are reporting that the deal for the 24 year old Dutch international could cost the Saints up to £10 million.

The midfielder's ability to sit in front of the defense and hold the centre of the park makes him a good replacement for the outgoing Schneiderlin.

Other sources are reporting that, since United have lowered their interest, Ronald Koeman is renewing his interest in Porto's defender Bruno Martins Indi, in a deal that could cost the Saints up to £18 million.

On top of this Koeman has also targeted Ron Vlaar, available on a free transfer, as a possible replacement for former Saint Toby Alderweireld.

The bids for these players have been made possible due to the departure of long-time servant of the club, Morgan Schneiderlin.

The frenchman moved to Manchester United for a reported £25 million, after he was left out of Southampton's pre-season tour to Austria.
