It's just over eight weeks until Warren Gatland's Welsh squad face Uruguay in their first game of the 2015 IRB Rugby World Cup.

However, before they even get a taste of world cup fever, they will have three warm up games in August and early September, two against Ireland home and away, and one against Italy at home.

Crunch time

It will be these three games that will  help Warren Gatland make the choice of which 31 players he is to take with him to World Cup Glory, and determine if Wales have got what it takes to go even further than they did back when they fell in the semi finals against France in 2011.

Their training camp in Poland has already begun, with the WRU putting the players under intense physical training in order to get them in the fittest possible shape ready for the campaign which will be staged in stadiums all over England and some games in the Millennium stadium in Cardiff.

Even though they are just warm up games, they still run the risk of major injuries before the world cup has even begun, and with George North's string of concussions earlier this year, the Welsh fans will be hoping for a fully fit team at the start of the tournament.

I'm sure Ireland will be feeling exactly the same and they'll be looking for revenge as Gatland's side ended their World Cup hopes back in 2011 with a  22-10 win in the quarter finals.

Tough task

Wales have one of the toughest groups in the tournament this year and they will probably have to beat either Australia or England in order to progress.

Wales have not beaten Australia since 2008 and their history with England suggests a brutal possible decider. What ever happens, Warren Gatlands army will be go into every game with no fear and every confidence that they can bring home the Webb Ellis cup for the first time.
