Football News

There are three things that Vincent K. McMahon loves on this Earth: his family, the WWE and making money.

There's a fourth thing to add to that list, celebrity appearances in the WWE. The list is endless, with Mike Tyson, William 'Refrigerator' Perry, Floyd Mayweather, Lawrence Taylor, Donald Trump and more recently the likes of Ronda Rousey and the cast of Entourage making appearances.

The list was very close to having another former boxing World Champion on it, Lennox Lewis.

Rejecting Vince

Lewis sat down for an interview with Michael Landsberg of TSN’s Off the Record on Tuesday. The conversation was pretty candid, and topics ranged from suing Don King four times to being bitten by Mike Tyson.

They then approached the conversation of the WWE, and the rumor that Lewis turned down a $5-million offer from Vince McMahon to take part in a match. Apparently it was true.

Facing Lesnar

Landsberg asked: "In 2002, did Vince McMahon offer you money?" Yes was the answer from Lewis. "Was it 5 million pounds?" was the follow-up. That bit wasn't true but apparently it was very close.

Lewis then went on to confirm that it would have been against Brock Lesnar  but he would've been the only one wearing gloves and that Lesnar would likely have won the match.

That wouldn't have been Lewis' first appearance at a WWE event however. He rocked up 10 years earlier at SummerSlam in London to bring out the British Bulldog to a rapturous English crowd.
