Arsenal are ready to offer a large amount of money to land Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer, according to reports in Germany.
RevierSport details how both the Gunners and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing the 26-year-old, with it being claimed that a ‘whopping’ sum would be put on the table by both clubs.
This comes as speculation over the forward’s future at the Signal Iduna Park continues to grow. Aubameyang was the most prolific forward Jurgen Klopp had last term, and it’s believed Dortmund want him to stay if they can avoid selling him.

That said they do face strong competition for his signature, and it can be assured that Arsenal in particular will pounce for the striker if they get the chance.
In fact Arsene Wenger only admitted this morning that he is interested in signing class players if he gets the chance, and given the fact the Gunners are thought to be in the market for a new striker it makes sense the Frenchman is keeping his options open.
It seems that for the time being at least Karim Benzema’s supposed switch to the Emirates Stadium is off the cards, in which case Aubameyang could serve as a good alternative.
Having bagged 26 goals across all competitions last term the Gabon international certainly looks good enough, although he could well struggle to adapt to the English game.
Need for a striker?
What is for certain is that Arsenal appear to need more than Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck if they’re to be a credible threat to Chelsea and Manchester City for the title.
Neither man looks capable of scoring 20 goals a season, and the Gunners need a stand-out goalscorer if they’re to provide a sustained challenge.
