Chelsea could have the next Brazilian sensation in their ranks after Kenedy was snapped training with the first-team for the first time last Friday.

The 19-year-old forward joined his future teammates in Montreal as they prepare for three matches in North America, with New York Red Bulls first up on Wednesday, July 22 in the International Champions Cup.

Deal imminent

The Daily Mail reports that the Blues haven't officially signed Kenedy just yet, but that a £6.3million deal from Fluminese is imminent. He'll be the second Brazilian arrival of the summer, with Nathan joining from Atletico Paranaense.

He's already left for Vitesse on loan though, and the same fate could befit Kenedy once his switch to Stamford Bridge has been made official.

If the teenager has instant aspirations of featuring for the Chelsea first team, he'll need to impress manager Jose Mourinho across the pond and got his first opportunity to do so yesterday.

Oscar's welcome

Kenedy appears to have settled well with his soon-to-be new colleagues on the King's Road, with Oscar and Ramires posing for a photo alongside their young compatriot and striker Diego Costa.

Mourinho has five Chelsea forwards currently involved in the double training sessions in Canada - Costa, Kenedy, Loic Remy, Dominic Solanke and Bertrand Traore - which means the Samba starlet might have to wait for his chance to shine.

Other friendlies

After the clash against the Red Bulls, the Blues face Champions League conquerors Paris-Saint Germain and then Barcelona whilst on tour, before returning home to meet Arsenal at Wembley in the FA Community Shield.

They begin the new Premier League campaign against Swansea City, and Mourinho will be hoping his Chelsea side can hit the ground running as they begin the defence of their title.
