If you’ve been reading the papers for the past week you’ll be all too aware that Chelsea are keen on striking a deal for Everton’s John Stones. It’s said Jose Mourinho wants him as John Terry’s replacement, they’ve already had a bid rejected, blah blah blah. You know the score. Well, the latest serious update on the saga is that Stones himself reportedly wants to move to Stamford Bridge. The Standard today claim that the England youngster won’t issue a transfer request to Roberto Martinez, but is hopeful that an agreement can be reached. In that report Champions League football and the chance to play for the Premier League title holders are cited as the decisive factors. Elsewhere it now seems Filipe Luis’ Chelsea career is set to be ended after just 12 months. Numerous reports state that the Blues have agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid for his return, with just formalities needing to be smoothed over.
