Cena v Owens is finished - What's next for the two superstars?

The rivalry between John Cena and Kevin Owens has reached it's inevitable fiery and dramatic end.

The pair have shown the rest of the WWE how it is done with their recent incredible performances at the PPVs but now that the rivalry is over, where do the pair go from here?

What will become of Cena?

John Cena once again defended his title in an incredible match that can only be described as a war between himself and Owens at Battleground.

Cena has defended the US title each and every week he has been allowed to since he won it from Rusev at WrestleMania. He calls it a symbol of excellence, but maybe the fact that they have a title match every week for it means that the US title has lost its prestige and its integrity.

If Cena defends the title every week then when he comes to defend it at a PPV it isn't very special anymore because he does the same exact thing on RAW each week.

They should probably stop the John Cena open challenge because it is ruining the US title, and it's getting a little bit boring...

Cena needs to be put in to a big rivalry again. The Owens rivalry was great while it lasted, but it's time that Cena was put back in to a meaningful rivalry with a Superstar that has a little more prestige in the WWE.

Maybe someone like Randy Orton, or Kane or somebody like that. Make it a title battle but take away the open challenge, otherwise it won't be so special.

Cena is coming to the end of his career with WWE and we want him to clock out with a good reputation, keep him in big battles. Don't place him in a stupid rivalry, such as the Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt rivalry. He needs to have another big battle.

What about Owens?

As for Kevin Owens, there are any number of ways they can take this man's future in the WWE.

However, he is too good to be fighting for the Intercontinental championship or any of the lower titles. He needs to be put in to a big rivalry with no title, or he needs to be put in the World title frame.

He is very like Brock Lesnar in the way that nobody other than the best superstars should ever be able to beat him. Putting him in matches with lower ranked stars like Dolph Ziggler etc, would be foolish.

He would never be beaten by those people therefore we all know what would happen, he would enter the ring and win within a few minutes. At least that's what should happen.

Maybe he could even be put in to a rivalry with the likes of Randy Orton, he needs something big to keep the fans interested.

If WWE don't think carefully about what they are going to do with him then then they could risk spoiling his already too short career in WWE. We all know he should have been in WWE long before he finally was, imagine if he was five years younger!

Basically, they have both just left a great rivalry but they need to be put in to another one of the same size and stature, a lesser opponent would be foolish for either of these superstars. WWE need to think carefully about their next move regarding Cena and Owens.
