The 31-year-old has moved up from his Madden 15 ranking and usurped Peyton Manning who has dropped out of the top completely along with the Seahawks' Russell Wilson despite guiding his team to Super Bowl XLIX.
Tom Brady, despite a drop in PSI deflating his balls, saw his Madden OVR increase and moves up to second after claiming his fourth Super Bowl ring and third Super Bowl MVP.
Drew Brees, even with a poor season, remains in the top five of Madden passers in third place, although his rating could drop next year with the loss of All-Pro Tight End, Jimmy Graham.
Ben Roethlisberger climbs into the top-five at fourth place after a fantastic 2014 season that saw 'Big Ben' lead the Steelers to the play-offs after topping the AFC North, eventually losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wildcard game.
Rounding out the top-five is all-round good-guy, Andrew Luck from the Indianapolis Colts after back-to-back seasons as the AFC South's top team and three play-off runs since Luck's sophomore season and last year's AFC Championship game.
NFL.com's Elliot Harrison, Bucky Brooks and Dave Dameshek all ranked Rodgers, Brady and Roethlisberger in their top-fives but with differing fourth and fifth options when they gave their top 10 quarterbacks in May.
Brooks and Dameshek both chose Luck and Wilson to round-out their five best quarterbacks as they rated the NFL's top 10.
Harrison chose Brees as his fourth best passer in the league but opted for Dallas Cowboys quarterback, and star of 'Jerry World', Tony Romo for leading the Cowboys to the NFC Divisional game.
All three however ranked arguably the game's greatest student and quarterback, Peyton Manning eighth, ninth and tenth in their top 10s.
