Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller is ready to consider a move to Manchester United should the two clubs agree a fee, according to Guardian journalist Jamie Jackson.
Reports in Germany have suggested that Louis van Gaal launched a €100million bid for the striker as he attempts to replace Robin van Persie before the start of next season.
Such an offer would be enough to make Muller the most expensive player in British football history and would match the figure–in Euros, but not in pounds–that Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale in 2013.

Jackson told talkSPORT that Manchester United would stand a good chance of convincing Muller to make the move to Old Trafford if they can come to terms with Bayern Munich.
However, he does not beleive Pep Guardiola or the other powers that be in Bavaria are willing to sell such an iconic star even for the nine-figure sum on offer.
Ready to consider a move
He said: “The one Louis van Gaal really wants is Thomas Muller.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said he won’t sell another star, after Bastian Schweinsteiger joined United, because it’s a bit difficult politically.
“Muller is open to the move though, so you never know in football.”
Bayern confirm intentions
As Jackson stated, the Bayern Munich president, Rummenigge, has publicly stated that he will not allow Muller to follow Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United.
"There are players who don't have a price tag," declared Rummenigge. "We would have lost our senses if we allowed such a player to leave.
"It's a hoax that left Munich but then sunk in the Pacific. There's nothing in it."
It seems Manchester United's transfer talks with Bayern Munich ended once Schweinsteiger completed his move to the Premier League and there is little hope of convincing them to part with Muller.
Van Gaal will instead have to look at other options with Juventus star Fernando Llorente reportedly an option. The Serie A club have offered the striker's services to Manchester United and several outlets have suggested that the Spaniard is Van Gaal's "surprise signing".
Manchester United have also been linked with Tottenham's Harry Kane and another Bayern Munich star, Robert Lewandowski.
