Valencia midfielder David Albelda has announced he intends to stay with the club following the arrival of new president Vicente Soriano.

The Spain international was prepared to go to court to win a free transfer and compensation at the end of last season after being frozen out along with Santiago Canizares and Miguel Angel Angulo under former coach Ronald Koeman.

However, since that time there have been widespread changes at the club, with Soriano replacing former president Juan Soler and former Almeria coach Unai Emery being appointed as Koeman´s permanent replacement. "Now I want to turn the page," he said. "There are new people in place and the only thing I want is calm and to give my best so that people only talk about me for sporting reasons."
