Zlatan Ibrahimovic has let slip that Angel di Maria is on his way to Paris Saint-Germain by welcoming him to the club during an interview.

The Argentinian winger is set to leave Manchester United just one year after becoming the club's most expensive player of all time following his £59.7 million move from Real Madrid.

Di Maria struggled to settle into life in the Premier League after a bright start, and his wife is said to be keen on leaving England after their family home was targeted by thieves in January after the Red Devils' game against January.

Di Maria was meant to join up with his Manchester United team-mates on their pre-season tour of America yesterday, however boss Louis van Gaal confirmed that he didn't get on the plane after completing his extended break following the Copa America.

"I have heard he is not on the plane," the Manchester United boss said. "I cannot say anything. He was not on the plan."

Now Ibrahimovic appears to have broken the news that Di Maria's move is complete, telling Le Parisien: "Welcome to Di Maria. He's a great player. With him the team will be better"

Ibrahimovic also confirmed that he would be staying with Paris Saint-Germain, despite rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Van Gaal had previously claimed he was close to completing a move for a mystery striker which it was reported could be Ibrahimovic. However the Swede, who featured for his side against Chelsea last evening, won't be on the move.

Is Di Maria the worst Manchester United signing of the last 10 years?
