Nancy defender Sebastien Puygrenier has set his sights on a switch to St Etienne after turning down an offer from Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg.

The giant centre-back was being tipped to complete a move to Zenit after visiting the UEFA Cup holders for two days and receiving a generous offer believed to be in the region of 1.5million euros per year.

"I have made my choice - I wish to join St Etienne. I really want to wear the green jersey and develop as a player at the ´Cauldron´ (the nickname of St Etienne´s Stade Geoffrey-Guichard)," said puygrenier.
