Turnover grew from £5.3 million in 2013 to £7.1 million in 2014 and club officials are forecasting further improvements in 2015.

Chairman Eamonn McManus said: "The club has never in its history been better positioned commercially and financially for its long term future than it is today. We are expecting further revenue, profit and balance sheet improvements in 2015 and in the years ahead."

The Saints have recently signed Dominique Peyroux on a two-year deal and will join for the start of next season. The centre/second-rower is likely to fill the void left by Josh Jones who will switch codes and join rugby union side Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership at the end of the current season.

Coach Kieron Cunningham said: "He [Peyroux] is a proven NRL player, has a keen eye for the line and will fit well into the systems we have here."

Good Form

Hull KR were easily dispatched by Cunningham's side as the Lancashire club ran out 52-12 winners over their visitors from across the Pennines. Greenwood (2), Burns, Dawson, Vea, Quinlan, Flanagan and Swift (2) all went over for Saints.

Prior to the Saints' match against KR, the club's Under 19's team headed back to the league's summit with a comfortable 36-12 victory over Warrington Wolves, having led 18-0 at the break.

St Helens face Leeds Rhinos in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup semi-final on Friday evening for the right to play either Hull KR or Warrington at Wembley.
