Ahead of tomorrow's Challenge Cup semi-final clash against St Helens, one particular Leeds Rhinos fan has put his money where his mouth is, Dave Craven of the Yorkshire Post reports. With odds of 8/13 with Ladbrokes, the punter has placed £20,000 on a Leeds victory at the Haliwell Jones Stadium tomorrow evening. The Saints are best priced 6/4 for the win, despite being just one point behind Leeds in the Super League table.

The bookies make Leeds the 15/8 favourites to retain the Challenge Cup with their opposition priced at 9/4.

MATCH BUILD-UP

Leeds second rower Stevie Ward has been ruled out of the clash with an ankle injury, although coach Brian McDermott has recalled Joel Moon to his Rhinos side after he sat out last weekend's 36-22 win over Catalan Dragons as a precaution after suffering a knock.

Saints boss Kieran Cunningham has recalled James Roby and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook for the short trip to Warrington following the pair sitting out Friday's demolition of Hull KR.

Speaking to the Guardian, Cunningham is well aware of the threat Leeds pose: "I was fortunate enough to win the Challenge Cup seven times. Perhaps back then we took it for granted that we would always be there and in with a chance.

"It would be nice to get there and lift the cup but we have the small matter of taking on the best team in the competition first."

RECENT FORM

Going into the match, St Helens have won just three of their last six where as the Rhinos have won all but one during the same period - a narrow 26-24 putdown by Wigan Warriors being their only defeat.
