Ballack must cope with Low blow

Michael Ballack will have his leadership qualities tested beyond his usual role as Germany captain if UEFA uphold Joachim Low´s touchline ban for the Euro 2008 quarter-final against Portugal.

Low and Austria coach Josef Hickersberger were sent from the dugout to the stands during Germany´s victory at Vienna´s Ernst Happel Stadium, which set up the last-eight clash between Ballack and his new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Germany coach Low is expected to criticise fourth official Damir Skomina when he submits a statement to UEFA - and the control and disciplinary body will then decide whether to rescind the one-match suspension.
