He is one of the most popular superstars in the WWE and has been for sometime, but unfortunately, Daniel Bryan has also been one of the most absent superstars in WWE for some time too.

The leader of the Yes movement has certainly suffered with injuries for a while now and missed much of 2014 due a severe neck injury.

Will he return?

Bryan headlined WrestleMania XXX in 2014 winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event.

He would then miss the majority of the year and forced to forfeit the title due to a very serious neck injury which threatened his whole career.

He did return however at the Royal Rumble earlier this year and claimed gold again at WrestleMania, capturing the Intercontinental championship.

That run also ended prematurely though as he was forced to relinquish the title due to another long term injury, and that was the last time we saw him.

Everyone is wondering when Bryan will return to the WWE and when the fans will once again be able to fill arenas with the sound of the word yes.

Well Bryan was asked about his return on a recent podcast and it doesn't make good reading for his fans.

“[WWE] will bring me back at some point, but not any time soon. I thought it would be a year or two." - Bryan on coming back

Can the WWE Universe really survive two years without the superstar who has inspired so many of them?

Bryan was sceptical of his future however as his conversation turned to his personal life and his future aspirations with his wife Brie Bella, he cast more doubt over his return to the ring.

"Brie would like to [keep wrestling], but she’s ready to have a baby and I’m also ready to be a father."

Bryan would go on to explain that he may face the decision of being a father who is constantly on the road and that he doesn't know what he would decide if that was the case.

The future of Daniel Bryan is clearly shrouded in mystery and it seems that even the man himself doesn't know when he will next step into a ring?
