‘Superfly’ Jimmy Snuka, good friend of Rowdy Roddy Piper, has been diagnosed with stomach cancer and underwent surgery for it this past Friday, according to his wife.

His wife Carole said in an interview with Bill Apter on The Apter Chat, the surgery involved the WWE Hall of Famer having his stomach and lymph nodes removed. It was a complete success but now he is on the long road to recovery.

She said: “Jimmy has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. They have removed the cancer… The doctors say he did very well and are very happy with the outcome. He still has a long road ahead of him.”

Carole went on and talked about Jimmy himself and how he is ready to beat the cancer.

“We all know how strong Jimmy is and Jimmy can take a beating. Jimmy says he is ready for this fight, and he wants to let his fans know that he’s not done yet,” she said.

During the interview as well, Carole mentioned about Superfly’s feelings on the passing of Rowdy Roddy Piper, saying he always gave 100 per cent and that he loves him.

She said: “Jimmy and I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Roddy Piper’s family. It’s been very difficult for me to tell Jimmy about the passing of his wrestling brother but I did. We cried together and Jimmy reminisced about their many good times that they had together.

“Roddy always gave 100 per cent, and you can’t give any more than that. Jimmy just wants to say ‘I love you brother, and you'll always be in my heart’.”

One of these good times as many wrestling fans will remember was when the two WWE Hall of Famers were a part of a famous angle, where Piper struck Snuka with a coconut on the head in one of the Piper’s Pit segments in 1984.

Piper sadly passed away at the age of 61 last Friday.

The 72-year-old is the father to current WWE Diva Tamina Snuka.
