Manchester United have fallen to 20th position in the latest UEFA coefficient rankings ahead of the new Champions League campaign.

The rankings effect what pot a team will be in when the group stage is drawn, and given United negotiate their play-off round they will drawn in pot two.

The fall in the rankings comes after the Red Devils failed to qualify for any European competition during their highly unsuccessful season under David Moyes.

Just five years ago the Old Trafford club sat atop the rankings having appeared in two consecutive finals.

Adnan Januzaj could be set for a loan spell away from Old Trafford. According to the Sunderland Echo, Dutch manager Dick Advocaat is in talks with his compatriot Louis van Gaal over season long deal.

Januzaj burst onto the scene at Sunderland as he scored a brace for David Moyes' Red Devils, but has failed to hold down a place in the side since the arrival of Van Gaal.

The arrival of Memphis Depay and the potential signing of Barcelona midfielder Pedro would limit Januzaj's appearances even further.

The Belgian is still thought to have a big future at Old Trafford but will have to leave in search of minutes. Everton have also been linked with a loan deal.

Manchester United are close to announcing the signing of Fulham under-18 star DJ Boffonge.

United have invested heavily in big money first team star this summer but this move sees the club making moves for future talent.

Buffonge joined Fulham's academy in 2010 from Arsenal before breaking into their under-18 side in the 2013-14 season.
