Mario Balotelli’s future at Liverpool has yet to be decided, but Cosmin Olaroiu, coach of Dubai-based outfit Al Ahli, has confirmed that the Italian rejected a move to his club when offered it this summer.
Reports over the past few weeks have detailed how Balotelli has been told he will not be a regular first-team fixture for Liverpool this season following a disappointing first term with the club, but the Reds appear be having trouble finding a buyer.
One suitor who got in contact with the player’s agent, the infamous Mino Raiola, has revealed that Balotelli wasn’t interested in dropping off the footballing radar by moving to the Middle East.

“We thought about him and even spoke with Mino Raiola”, Olaroiu said, as per Italian sources.
“But Balotelli declined our proposal as he wants to join a different team.”
Where that leaves Liverpool is anyone’s guess, with Rodgers sure to want Balotelli gone from his fold before the end of the summer window.
Having so far sold Rickie Lambert to West Brom and purchased Christian Benteke and Danny Ings, the Northern Irishman has made it clear change is in order, and Balotelli doesn’t look likely to survive it.
Instead it’s been claimed that the Reds are open to offers, with a number of suitors from Italy said to be mildly interested.
Sampdoria, Bologna and Lazio are the three most commonly associated with the striker, although the first two don’t appear able to afford the transfer.
Lazio meanwhile want a loan deal with an option to buy next season, but they are seeking for Liverpool to pay 70% of Balotelli’s wages for the forthcoming campaign, with no guarantee that they will buy him at the end of it.
