John Cena's broken nose, suffered in a July 27th Monday Night Raw match against Seth Rollins, has been cause of much debate in the WWE Universe recently.
Although the WWE veteran valiantly continued the match vs Rollins (and won) it has all been downhill since then, Cena going in for surgery and being pulled from a whole host of live events.
With SummerSlam edging ever closer WWE fans have been desperate to discover just how long John Cena will be out for, and whether he faces the prospect of missing the huge PPV event. Backstage reports today revealing the WWE's plans for Cena will then be very welcome.
As reported by NoDq.com, John Cena is slated to return to action for the taping of the August 17th episode of Monday Night Raw.
There is no definitive answer yet as to whether his return to WWE TV will involve in-ring work but it does at least show that he will be ready (assuming everything goes according to plan) to take on Seth Rollins at SummerSlam on August 23rd.
Scheduled to fight Rollins at the PPV event with both the US and Heavyweight title on the line it is imperative that Cena doesn't enter the ring having been out of action for a whole month.
Whilst he has been working out in the gym following his nose surgery, getting in the squared circle on WWE primetime in the lead up to SummerSlam will be a huge boost - both for Cena and the WWE.
Returning on August 17th gives John Cena the perfect chance to ramp up his new rivalry with Seth Rollins even further.
