Speculation is rife that Manchester United will hand summer signing Memphis Depay their iconic number seven shirt ahead of Saturday’s Premier League opener against Tottenham - but a photo on Twitter suggests that might not be the case.
A new image has leaked reportedly showing a ‘Memphis 9’ shirt being sold by an Adidas shop in Leeds - although we’ve been unable to verify whether or not this is true.
Manchester United are expected to announce their squad numbers for the 2015-16 campaign either today or tomorrow, but it would be a slight surprise if the self-confident Depay doesn’t take the seven shirt from Angel di Maria.

Di Maria’s transfer to PSG was announced this afternoon - the Ligue 1 champions have called a press conference to unveil the Argentina international tonight - and this has freed up the shirt number previously worn by United greats including George Best, Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It was reported earlier today, by the Daily Mail, that Depay has asked to wear the vacant seven shirt - although in training on Wednesday he was seen wearing No. 9 on his shorts.
Depay faces competition from Pedro
Depay wore nine - the number vacated by Radamel Falcao - throughout pre-season and played in a central role behind Wayne Rooney, rather than out wide, to the surprise of many.
Depay dropped a big hint that he wanted the No. 7 shirt at Manchester United - the same number he wore last season for PSV Eindhoven - with his redesigned Twitter header.
It features the Netherlands international alongside the United emblem on one side, and ‘M7’ on the other.
But Depay faces competition for the club’s most famous shirt number from Pedro, who is now expected to finalise his move from Barcelona.
The Spanish World Cup winner has worn No. 7 at the Camp Nou since the days of Pep Guardiola.
