NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn continues to take shape with some big matches already announced for the event, as well as a new stipulation.

The biggest names of NXT will be at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn the night before SummerSlam, and it’s finally been revealed that one of the new recruits will be making his highly anticipated debut at TakeOver: Brooklyn.

Crews was one of the big-name signings the WWE signed to a developmental deal and he looks to be the first of them to be making his full NXT debut, and the setting is perfect for him to mark his debut.

This won’t be the first time we see Crews on our screens. He was in attendance at Takeover: Unstoppable before appearing in a contract signing segment on an episode of NXT which aired on May 6.

TakeOver: Brooklyn is being hyped as the night Crews makes his debut, whether he’s actually involved in a match or simply appears at the event to hype the start of his NXT career remains to be seen.

Crews will have a lot of pressure on his shoulders. A lot is expected of him as he’s fantastic in the ring and fans have waited months for him to actually make his debut. He won’t be short of opponents and he’s definitely being touted as a future NXT Champion now that the wait is almost over.

Triple H and co will be going all out to ensure fans are still talking about TakeOver once SummerSlam weekend is over, and this event will certainly set the bar high for the main roster superstars and divas the following night.

A number of matches have already been announced for the event, and it won’t come as a surprise if more are announced via social media closer to the event; whilst some aren’t yet confirmed but are expected to take place at the event.

One of those matches is between Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin. The two will kick off a feud soon and a match between the pair could come as early as TakeOver later this month.

Blake and Murphy will defend their NXT Tag Team Championships, but they won’t be up against Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Instead, the Vaudevillains will be trying to finally get their hands on the titles that have eluded them on a number of occasions.

Sasha Banks will also be defending her NXT Women’s Championship on the night. There’s a chance she could drop the title before moving on to the main roster full time. Triple H also hinted during a recent Q&A session that this will be the penultimate match of the evening.

One of the more highly anticipated matches of the event includes Tyler Breeze, as he will be going up against the legend that is Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger.

This past week on NXT Kevin Owens laid down the challenge to the champion, Finn Balor as the two will go at it at TakeOver.

Owens dropped the title to Balor at the Beast in the East special event in Tokyo, Japan and in the rematch, Owens wants a ladder match.

Balor did accept the challenge although it wasn’t made official, it is expected to be a ladder match to add excitement to the evening as a whole.

Huge title matches, an Apollo Crews debut, Liger competing in a match and potential appearances from the likes of Hideo Itami; the event is set to be one of the biggest in NXT history, if not the biggest.
