Catania have offered coach Walter Zenga a one-year extension to his contract after he saved the team from relegation.

A 1-1 draw against Roma on the final day of the season was enough to hold off Empoli, earning the side a third consecutive season in the top flight and triggering an automatic 12-month extension to his contract. President Pietro Lo Monaco insists he wants Zenga, who took over from Silvio Baldini at the end of March, to lead the club to a fourth year in Serie A.

"We remain at the highest level and, for the third time in a row, we will be playing in Serie A next season," Lo Pietro said on Radio Kiss Kiss.
