Football News

All summer the transfer rumour mill has been in overdrive regarding Everton. So far the Goodison Park hierarchy have managed to keep John Stones at the club and are now set to tie down a hugely important player to an improved deal, thereby quashing more rumours.

Deals to be done

According to the Liverpool Echo Kevin Mirallas is  set to sign a new deal at the club, with James McCarthy having been confirmed as having already penned a fresh contract.

With the new season fast approaching, this will be great news to the fans who have had to endure months of lazy rumours surrounding some of their quality players.

The new season

If all of a sudden these new contracts are signed and Everton get a win against Watford, with more new signings promised, the 2015/16 campaign will be off on a positive note.

Some quality names have been touted recently and rumours are gathering pace that Everton have been in negotiations with Xherdan Shaqiri for several weeks, with a deal potentially to be agreed shortly.

The main thing for Everton fans is the admission from boss Roberto Martinez that three players are due to arrive. These individuals have been targeted for some time and the press coverage has been minimal.

Fans can expect good things

This means that the club are pretty much operating under the radar, providing time to make the right signings.

For now though fans at the club can rub their hands together at the prospect of finally putting the McCarthy and Mirallas rumours to bed, with a certain degree of satisfaction. I wonder what the Daily Express and Daily Mail will write about when they do sign?

Everton fans, who do you think Roberto Martinez will sign this summer? Let us know in the comments box below.
