Roger Goodell bursts out laughing after deflategate congratulations

Football News

Roger Goodell is doing a pretty good job of making himself the most unpopular man in New England right now.

Having upheld the four-game suspension for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady recently, the NFL commissioner has managed to rile up the fans, and quite possibly the franchise themselves, with his actions at last night's Pro Football Hall of Fame dinner.

Making things worse

Congratulated by inductee Ron Wolf of Green Bay Packers fame, Goodell's immediate reaction was to laugh hysterically. The whole exchange was caught on camera and it is safe to say Patriots fans have not reacted well.

Here is the moment Wolf tells Goodell, "way to go on that Brady thing."

Of course, such is the nature of these events there is the potential that the commissioner was simply on auto-pilot and didn't really pay attention/hear what was being said to him, opting to go for the laugh and hope approach.

But, with deflategate continuing to cause unrest and resentment amongst New England fans as they contemplate opening the 2015 season without Tom Brady, for Patriots fans it is yet another kick in the teeth:

What next?

With Goodell and the NFL standing firm on their punishment for the Super Bowl MVP, Tom Brady himself is continuing the fight in the federal courts as he seeks to clear his name of any wrong doing.

Whether the suspension is eventually overturned only time will tell but, even if Brady is out on the gridiron come Week One, it is pretty safe to say Roger Goodell won't be welcome at Foxboro any time soon.
