Chelsea launched a huge €65m offer for Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke, reports Spanish newspaper Marca.

Yesterday they reported that Chelsea had made a 'secret' offer for the Spanish international and today they follow up on that report by claiming the bid from Chelsea was €65m.

The Chelsea offer was one of several Atletico Madrid have reportedly rejected over the course of the summer, as it's claimed they've turned down offers worth a combined €200m.

Alongside Chelsea target Koke, bids have been forthcoming for Jan Oblak, Antoine Griezmann and Diego Godin.

The Spanish club have been raided in recent seasons - the likes of Diego Costa leaving for the Premier League - but they're fighting hard to keep their squad together this time around.

Competitive spirit

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been vocal in recent weeks, claiming that the Premier League will be more competitive this season after rivals like Arsenal and Manchester City have strengthened.

Chelsea have brought in Radamel Falcao to supplement Costa up front, but they've not been too busy so far in the transfer market.

The squad is strong across the board although attacking midfield is potentially one area to bolster if reports linking Blues midfielder Oscar with a move to Serie A champions Juventus are to be believed.

What do you think Chelsea fans - would Koke be a good signing for the Stamford Bridge club?
