Kevin Owens has been going up against Chris Jericho in recent WWE Live events and it has been receiving a great reaction from everyone in attendance, according to reports.

Y2J was brought onto the live shows to replace the injured John Cena, who has been out injured ever since Seth Rollins kneed him in the nose, breaking it in the process. He isn't expected to be back on Raw until August 17.

According to WrestlingInc, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said Jericho won three matches against Owens, as it is WWE's rule that if the top babyface is injured, his replacement must beat the heel.

Their first match was on July 31 in San Diego, California, and it was first on the match bill and took 25 minutes in order to prevent any Cena fans asking for a refund within the allocated 20 minutes at the start of the event.

The following night in Ontario, they worked in the main event in a Steel Cage match, and the same match stipulation and place on the match bill was given to their match the next night in Fresno. This match replaced the scheduled main event between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

All three matches between Jericho and Owens received great reports from all in attendance. Could the WWE capitalise on this and make this a TV match or possible feud?

Owens is currently in a feud with Cesaro and they are expected to have a match on August 23 at SummerSlam, so any feud is likely not to happen till after this, but a TV match could occur anytime soon.

Jericho hasn't appeared on a televised WWE event since The Beast in the East special on the WWE Network on July 4, where he defeated Neville. He hasn't appeared in a match on Raw since December 15 last year.

Whether Y2J wants another TV match anytime soon is a different story. Many fans know he is only a part time performer as he is highly focused on his music.

A match at WrestleMania 32 between these two would be perfect for each competitor. It would be a good reason for Jericho to come back as the match would be on the grandest wrestling stage of them all, and it would be an excellent WrestleMania debut match for a deserving Owens too.

Owens needs to win a WWE title before this match, so this could be put on the line to add meaning to the match. WrestleMania is still a long way to go too, but fans would definitely want to see this match.
