Veteran defender Patrick Zwaanswijk is set to leave NAC Breda after the club asked him to take a significant pay cut to stay another season.

The 33-year-old was ready to sign an extension until receiving an offer he claims was a 40% cut on this season´s salary.

"Things were strange," Zwaanswijk told AD Sportwereld of negotiations over a new deal. "I only had one talk with NAC. I didn´t ask for more money."
