Liverpool new-boy Roberto Firmino may have only enjoyed a short cameo yesterday afternoon as the Reds secured all three points against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium, but he was hard at work today in a behind-closed-doors match.

In fact, the Reds took on Welsh outfit TNS at their training base at Melwood this afternoon, and Firmino was the standout performer.

The Brazilian ace, who completed a big money move to Anfield earlier on in this transfer window, struck a hat-trick in a 5-1 win for the Premier League giants.

Firmino wasn't the only first-team star to take to the pitch, however, with the likes of Adam Bogdan, Emre Can, Lucas Leiva, Alberto Moreno, Divock Origi, Danny Ings, Lazar Markovic, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure featuring.

In fact, striker Ings managed to find the back of the net from the penalty spot, while Markovic also netted for the Reds.

Huge role to play

And Liverpool should most certainly be excited by the prospect of Firmino starring for them week in, week out this season.

Ultimately, the Brazilian ace is full of talent and will no doubt provide a great deal in attack throughout the course of the campaign.

Both a creator and scorer of goals, Reds fans will be expecting their big money signing to deliver the goods sooner rather than later.

How many goals do you think Firmino will score this season? Have your say below!
