Aaron Rodgers says he has eight more years left in the NFL

NFC Championship - Green Bay Packers v Seattle Seahawks

Aaron Rodgers has announced he will play in the NFL for eight more years, according to reports.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback told MMQB's Peter King last Friday he will play in the league for another 'eight' years.

Don't fret Packers fans! The two-time NFL MVP has said in June 2013 according to ProFootballTalk that he would play eight or seven more years. This number sounds like it is forever changing and readjusting.

With Rodgers being 38 or 39 at the end of this prediction though, it sounds more like a realistic target for him to aim for. He will hope to achieve another target during that time frame that he set in 2013, winning more Vince Lombardi trophies.

Rodgers isn't the only quarterback to set a target of eight more years in the league. New England Patriots' Tom Brady, according to CBS Sports, set the same target in the emails that were submitted in part of the NFLPA's suit over the quarterback's four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate.

Brady also said in the email that Denver Broncos' Peyton Manning only has two seasons left in the league, but whether Manning actually agrees with this statement is a different matter.

Going back to the Packers, it's amazing to think since Brett Favre took the snaps in his first year in 1992, the team has never had a poor season at the position. The combination of Favre, then Rodgers at quarterback is one that really can't be rivalled.

The quarterback combination that comes close to this is that of Joe Montana and Steve Young with the San Francisco 49ers. Over 19 seasons, the 49ers duo had 213 wins, a .643 completion percentage, 465 touchdowns, and 209 interceptions.

On the other hand, the Packers duo have had so far over 23 seasons, 248 wins, a .631 completion percentage, 668 touchdowns, and 343 interceptions.

Enjoy these last eight years Packers fans, as evident by the 49ers, these quarterback duos only come around once every nine years.

What do you think? Is the Packers quarterback combo of Favre and Rodgers, better than the 49ers combo of Montana and Young? Leave a comment below...
