Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was impressed by the fitness shown from forward Diego Costa in the 2-2 draw to Swansea City.

There were question marks over the striker's fitness heading into the game as he suffered with a hamstring problem throughout pre-season.

However, the Spanish forward came through the 90 minutes unscathed as Mourinho decided to leave him on the field after going down to ten men.

Speaking after the match Mourinho said: "He did very well... I was not expecting him to resist for 90 minutes but because we wanted to try to collect a goal we went with him until the end and it was very important for us that he played for 90 minutes with such a physical performance.

"He’s very happy with the reaction of his body after such a difficult game."

Chelsea are back in the hunt for John Stones and are expected to make a £30 million move for the Everton defender.

The Blues have already had two bids rejected by Everton for the services of the England international.

The Goodison Park club are believed to be holding out for £34 million, so it would come as a surprise to see Chelsea's latest bid be accepted.

The deal for Augsburg defender Baba Rahman is expected to be wrapped up in the imminent future.

It was revealed by his agent last week that personal terms between the player and the club had been agreed.

Now German publication Bild are reporting a fee between the two clubs has been agreed and Rahman will be making the switch to London in the not too distant future.
