Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov has pleaded with Pedro not join Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, warning the Dutch manager will 'ruin' him.

The Spanish winger is in advanced talks to join Manchester United, however the move may be delayed by Neymar's bout of mumps and Stoichkov believes it would be a terrible decision by the current Barcelona star to link up with the Dutch manager.

The Bulgarian, who scored 118 goals in 254 games during two spells at the Catalan club, believes Van Gaal is a mediocre manager and is in the process of ruining Manchester United. much like he did Barcelona.

"I would never be under the orders of [Louis] Van Gaal. He’s mediocre. He destroyed Barca and is destroying Man United." He said, as per the Independent.

"With what he has done to [Victor] Valdes he has shown he is a bad person. Hopefully Pedro listens to me and doesn’t leave."

This is not the first time Stoichkov has publicly slammed the Dutch boss, in March he labelled Van Gaal as 'scum' and blamed him for his exit from the Nou Camp in 1998.

If Manchester United want to be challenging for the title at the end of the season then the signing of Pedro is a necessity. United's current options in the wide positions are not enough to maintain a serious title charge, in my opinion.

Memphis Depay will take time to adapt to the Premier League, and it will take him even longer if he is played out of position behind the striker. Juan Mata is in no way a wide-man, and is much more effective when he comes inside and gets in and around the box.

While Ashley Young had a fantastic end to the previous campaign there are still question marks over his ability to produce on a regular basis.

Pedro would bring a wealth of experience and quality that would be invaluable to Manchester United in their title tilt.

So Manchester United fans, will Pedro take you on to the next level? Have your say below!
