Paris St Germain president Alain Cayzac has stepped down from his post, a day after the relegation-threatened club held a crisis meeting.

The 66-year-old tendered his resignation following a meeting on Sunday with Sebastien Bazin - who is a representative of PSG´s main shareholder, Colony Capital - and coach Paul Le Guen.

"It´s evidently not with a light heart that I quit my job as president of Paris St Germain," Cayzac said in a statement released by the club.
