Aulas salutes battling Lyon

Football News
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas hailed his team´s fighting spirit after the French champions continued their march towards a seventh successive Ligue 1 title with a come-from-behind 2-1 win at Strasbourg.

The hosts, who remain in the relegation zone, took a surprise lead through Wason Renteria but the dismissal of Eric Mouloungui on the stroke of half-time stalled their momentum. Mathieu Bodmer equalised shortly after the hour mark and Italy full-back Fabio Grosso scored the winner after 68 minutes.

"We must recognise the immense talents of the Lyon players and coaching staff," Aulus told "When you are 1-0 down to a team struggling for survival and with a referee who is under pressure from the home fans, in nine cases out of 10 you lose the match - even against a team reduced to 10 men."
