Dolph Ziggler's return delayed longer than hoped?

It has been an interesting 2015 in the WWE but for two superstars in particular, it hasn't been a very successful one.

Rusev and Dolph Ziggler both came into the year with a lot of momentum from 2014 after Ziggler's incredible performance at Survivor Series last year and Rusev remaining to be unbeaten.

Only way is down

Rusev lost his unbeaten record at WrestleMania XXXI after losing to John Cena and then after subsequent losses at the next two PPVs and a serious injury, he has certainly tumbled down the pecking order in WWE.

Ziggler has had a worse year after being fired by the returning Authority at the start of the year, participating in the much criticised Intercontinental Championship feud heading into WrestleMania and then being surrounded by speculation over the end of his contract.

The two were sent on a collision course for Summer Slam in a feud that everyone wanted to see, but nobody seemed to like.

It all centred on Lana leaving Rusev and using Ziggler to make the crippled Bulgarian angry and jealous before he would then pair up with Summer Rae.

Not a whole lot happened for the first weeks while Rusev healed from a broken ankle but it was finally starting to build to something after Rusev 'injured' Ziggler.

The Show Off had been expected to return to face the Bulgarian Brute at Summer Slam next week, but that now appears to be no longer on the cards.

It was confirmed by Lana on Monday night's episode of RAW that Ziggler will return shortly after Summer Slam despite him being expected back before then.

The latest rumours however claim that the reason Ziggler is yet to return and set to miss Summer Slam is due to the film he is starring in "6:42" not yet finishing filming.

Ziggler was meant to be back a week ago but was pulled from shows due to his commitments with the film project.

There are currently no plans in place for Rusev at Summer Slam either but we certainly can't rule out seeing either man at the four hour spectacular.
