Lyon coach Alain Perrin admitted his team´s dreadful start cost them dear in the 3-1 defeat to Marseille in Ligue 1.

Not only were Les Gones 2-0 down by the 28th minute after goals by Djibril Cisse and Mamadou Niang, they also lost key players Jeremy Toulalan and Fred to knee injuries in the opening half-hour of Sunday´s match.

Perrin said: "Our start to the match was too tame against a powerful and aggressive Marseille team, who played as if it was a European match."
