More frustration for stuttering Barca

Barcelona´s pursuit of Primera Liga leaders Real Madrid hit another hurdle on Sunday night as Frank Rijkaard´s side could only manage a goalless draw at home to Getafe.

Luck was certainly not on the Catalan giants´ side as they hit the woodwork on three occasions with the Getafe goal leading a charmed life. But a failure to find the back of the net means Barca remain in third place, seven points behind Madrid, although they have drawn level with second-placed Villarreal.

Villarreal´s title hopes were hit by a 2-0 defeat at Sevilla. La Liga leading scorer Luis Fabiano broke the deadlock in the 18th minute before Fredi Kanoute sealed the victory three minutes from time with a penalty. To compound Villarreal´s misery, Joan Capdevila was sent off in injury time for a second bookable offence.
