WWE may have revealed the result of the main event of the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, the NXT special show that takes place the night before SummerSlam.
The main event is a ladder match is for the NXT Championship. The current champion Finn Balor goes up against Kevin Owens after Owens activated his rematch clause. Owens lost the championship to Balor at the The Beast in the East special in Japan last month.
Other than Raw, the WWE tapes it’s shows and then airs them out weeks later. Last night at the NXT tapings, Owens had a match against Neville. What happened when Owens came out to the ring for his match will surprise you.

Owens came out to the ring for his match against The Man That Gravity Forgot with the NXT Championship over his shoulder. That’s right, Owens has the NXT Championship.
This is where things get a bit tricky. We don’t know if Owens actually won the title or not, or if the WWE is just trolling the WWE Universe.
They could have done a backstage segment explaining all of this but this hasn’t been announced on twitter, only that Owens now has the championship. We shouldn’t rule out the possibility either that he may have stolen the championship, rather than actually winning it.
Balor may climb to the top of the ladder at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn and wins the championship, then Owens could attack him after the match was over and taken the title.
Whatever now happens at the special show to explain the situation shown at last night's tapings, it’s a bit strange for the WWE to reveal the outcome of the main event to one of the most highly anticipated NXT shows in its history.
