Football News
Serie A strugglers Empoli have sacked coach Alberto Malesani and replaced him with former boss Luigi Cagni.

Cagni led the club to a seventh-placed finish last season and a place in the UEFA Cup but was dismissed on November 27 following a goalless draw against Torino which saw the club fall into the relegation zone.

Former Udinese boss Malesani was brought in to take the club away from the bottom three but they have instead slipped to the foot.
