AC Milan´s hopes of a Champions League place took a blow on Sunday after they lost 2-1 to at home to Atalanta.

With Juventus´ home match against Parma postponed following the death of a visiting fan near a service station outside Turin, Milan´s drive for Champions League football became the focus for the day´s games.

But Sergio Floccari opened the scoring for the visitors just after the half-hour mark and Antonio Langella doubled the lead three minutes before half-time. Paolo Maldini pulled a goal back for Milan in the 85th minute but any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Alessandro Nesta was sent off two minutes later.
