WWE: Nikki Bella struggling with back injury

Football News

The WWE have been going through something of an injury nightmare in the past year or so, with some top stars spending time out.

Injury Crisis

Firstly, you've got John Cena who has been sitting on the sidelines for the past few weeks after having his nose smashed across his face by the knee of Seth Rollins. And then there is Daniel Bryan, who was forced to relinquish his second title in less than a year.

And then there is NXT, who have lost two of their biggest stars, Sami Zayn and Hideo Itami for the rest of 2015, with Zayn suffering his injury on his RAW debut against Cena.

Bella Hurt

And now it seems that the Divas aren't safe from this injury curse either, with Divas Champion Nikki Bella also hurt.

According to a report from NoDQ, Bella mentioned on Twitter that she was unable to attend the Teen Choice awards because she is currently rehabbing her back.

The Champion was off this weekend's WWE live events and now we know why, as it appears she's dealing with some sort of back injury.

It was reported as far back as July that Nikki was working through a partially separated shoulder that was causing her some pain and discomfort but would not require time off.

No wonder she's been working so many tag-team matches in recent times and hasn't been hitting the Rack Attack, the WWE obviously want to limit the amount of work she has to do.

This doesn't take away from how poorly laid out the 'Divas Revolution' has been though. The WWE want Nikki to keep the title for a few more weeks so she can break AJ Lee's record for longest reign, because Lee had the gaul to retire from wrestling. So Bella has barely defended her belt at all, and it won't even be on the line at SummerSlam.
