Metz docked point over abuse

Metz have been docked one point and must play a match behind closed doors as a result of the racist abuse suffered by Valenciennes captain Abdeslam Ouaddou.

The Moroccan was barracked during the match between the two sides at the Stade Saint-Symphorien last month, with the fan accused of perpetrating the abuse given a season-long ban by the club.

The French Professional Football League decided on Thursday the club, already 13 points adrift at the foot of Ligue 1, should face punishment.
