Football News
Winger Robert Pires has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Villarreal.

The 34-year-old Frenchman, whose contract was set to expire in June, had hoped to extend his stay with the Primera Liga side for another two years, but has had to settle for a single season deal.

Former Arsenal player Pires, who joined the Castellon club in 2006, has made 26 appearances this campaign, starting 22 games and scoring twice.
