The man allegedly responsible for hitting Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Armando Ribeiro with a bottle thrown from the stands during Saturday´s abandoned Primera Liga game with Real Betis is being held in prison after failing to pay his 3,000 euros bail, according to reports in Spain

Armando needed stitches to a face wound after being struck just below his right eye during the second half of the match at Betis´ Manuel Ruiz de Lopera stadium, which was subsequently abandoned by referee Carlos Clos Gomez.

A man was immediately taken into custody by the authorities after being identified by nearby Betis fans and, after spending Saturday night at a police station, on Sunday appeared before a judge and was given a 3,000 euros bail.
