Liverpool have made a large contract offer to Real Betis starlet Dani Ceballos in a bid to beat Real Madrid and Arsenal to his signature.

A report from local newspaper Diario de Sevilla claims that the Reds have made a concrete move for the 19-year-old's whose future at Betis still lies in significant doubt.

Ceballos' current contract expires next summer and talks over a new one have seen little progress in the last few weeks.

The midfielder has seen his stock rise significantly after a a number of European scouts saw him inspire Spain to the European Under-19 Championship title in Greece this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to have personally watched Ceballos play and was struck by the similarities between him and former Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas.

Chelsea have held a long-term interest in the player while Real Madrid have been accredited with an interest for as long as Arsenal have. All this has only served to decrease Betis' chances of keeping their talented youngster.

Liverpool's offer

But Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been the first to show his hand in the race for Ceballos and what a hand it is.

According to this new report, the Reds have offered Ceballos a salary of €1.5million-a-year plus a number of performance related bonuses. That would be a huge increase on his current wage.

To top it all off the offer includes a house and a car. While most young people in England can only dream of owning a house, Ceballos is being offered his own city property for free.

Liverpool have already sealed the talented Joe Gomez this season and also bagged the in-demand Divock Origi last summer. If Ceballos chooses Anfield, it will start to gain a reputation as the go-to destination for Europe's best young stars.
