Jose Antonio Camacho stood down as Benfica coach on Sunday night after his side were held to a 2-2 draw in the Portuguese SuperLiga against bottom side Uniao de Leiria.

The stalemate at the Estadio da Luz marked Benfica´s third league game in succession without a win and leaves them 14 points behind leaders Porto after 22 matches.

Camacho, who only took charge at the Portuguese giants in August, cited a lack of motivation on the part of the players and himself for his decision to stand down.
