Pedro to have Chelsea medical tomorrow ahead of transfer

Pedro Rodriguez will undertake a medical in London tomorrow ahead of a move to Chelsea this summer, according to the latest reports.

The Independent relays how the Spanish winger is on the verge of sealing his transfer to Stamford Bridge, with Manchester United no longer in the running due to Louis van Gaal’s decision not to pay the required fee to Barca.

Pedro medical

Jose Mourinho’s £22million hijack will be complete if and when Pedro completes the medical formalities - it can only be assumed he will - and his arrival might be enough to spark a revival in a Chelsea squad that has looked dangerously complacent this season.

With the reigning Premier League champions having only managed to take one point from their first two games this campaign - the latter a 3-0 mauling at the hands of Manchester City - Mourinho is looking to bolster his options, and there’s few more experienced options than Pedro.

A great buy

The Barcelona man, despite sitting in the pecking order behind Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, is supremely talented, and will certainly be another marquee name to add to Chelsea’s ever-growing roster.

In the same vein he’ll make for a perfect upgrade on Juan Cuadrado, if Mourinho decides to sell the Colombia international this summer as expected.

The ex-Fiorentina man has flopped since arriving from Serie A, and if Pedro is being purchased it can be assumed one of Mourinho’s current forwards will make way.
