The New York Jets have not had a great pre-season, to say the very least.

Poor Pre-Season

It got off to a poor start last week with the revelation that cornerback Dee Milliner would be missing the start of the season with yet another injury, which served as a prelude to an even bigger injury story as Geno Smith had his jaw broken by a punch from I.K Enemkpali.

And the run up to the 2015 NFL season hasn't gotten any easier, with the news that a Jets player has just been suspended.

Aboushi Suspended

According to a report from, Jets offensive lineman Oday Aboushi has been suspended for the first game of the 2015 NFL season.

"New York Jets guard Oday Aboushi was suspended Thursday for the first game of the season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse," the report read.

Aboushi was caught with a small amount of marijuana in his car during a January traffic stop, according to Ian Rapoport.

“I apologize for my actions and understand the repercussions. This is something I’ve learned from and I’m focused on moving forward,” Aboushi said in a statement.

Aboushi was a 2013 fifth-round pick of the Jets who started 10 games last year. This year he’s competing for a roster spot, and this news won’t make it any easier for him to make the team.
